If you haven’t already seen the Conservative party campaign “commercial” criticizing Justin Trudeau yet, you should watch the video below before continuing on.

Now that you’ve seen the commercial you’re probably not at all convinced to not vote for Justin Trudeau, which is the main objective of this commercial. The conservatives have been airing this on every platform possible and the interesting part is, it is completely backfiring on them. This commercial is bad for the conservatives for the short and long term. It seems as if they hired somebody on a low budget and that person didn’t even think about the future election. If you go on YouTube and search for this video, you’ll find many copies and mocks of this video. Just read the comments section and you’ll see how people are reacting. I’ve talked to quite a few people about this commercial and the funny thing is they have all said basically the same thing as the comments. In fact some people that were undecided voters now want to vote Liberal just to spite Harper, the Conservatives and this commercial. just look at the comment that sums all up:

“Coming from someone who considers themselves politically neutral, this ad came across as extremely c***y. Makes me almost want to vote Liberal just out of spite”
If  that wasn’t bad enough, just think about the punch line of the ad. “He’s Just Not Ready”. I can tell you an easy Marketing Campaign for the Liberals next time around, “He’s Ready Now.” The conservatives have set it up so perfectly for them, near the end of the commercial they say “I’m not saying no forever but not now.” Why didn’t they just say don’t vote for him this election but vote for him next time. I’m not sure what they were thinking when they said that, then again it doesn’t seem like they were thinking much when they made this entire ad. Maybe next time they should remember to do proper market research and testing before airing such an important commercial. Let me know in the comment section what you think of this Commercial.
Disclaimer: My political views align with the Liberals, however this article was written completely without bias and is only about the marketing aspects of the commercial and not that actual politics.
Be fully informed before you vote, above is what the parties are promising for the October election.
